Q & A
Are eyelash extensions for me?
YES! Are you sick of caking on mascara or trying to glue on the strips that end up peeling off half way through your day? Then lash extensions are the perfect answer. It makes for a simpler make up application leaving one less step, you wake up feeling beautiful and you will wonder what you had done all along without them!
But I have heard they damage your lashes and I don't want to ruin my natural lash..
Yes, your natural lashes CAN become damaged... BUT this will only happen if poor application was done from an inexperienced stylist, you are not taking care of them properly and they are not brushed and maintained. I care about the integrity of your lashes first because we need a healthy eyelash to apply an extension too!
How often do I need to get them done?
About every 2-3 1/2 weeks depending on your personal preference. I can help guide you on the best time frame to reschedule your fills as all of us retain lash extensions differently and some of us have more lashes than others.
How many lashes do we have?
On average we have about 120-180 per eye.
What is the fall out cycle like?
You will notice fall out throughout the 2-3 1/2 weeks before your next fill. Lash extensions don't take your natural lash with them, only sometimes. Just like the hair on our head, they shed and grow back! Each lash cycle can be different depending on season and each individual.
Each eye can shed between 2-3 lashes per day
First week= about 21 total lashes lost
Second week= 42 total lashes lost
Third week= 63 total lashes lost
It's too expensive and too high maintenance..
Yes, lashes are a luxury service to have.. just like the upkeep of our hair and nails. But it is so worth it! Let me tell you why. It saves time in the morning getting ready for your work day leaving you feeling like you don't even need any makeup on anyways, each service takes about an hour every 2-3 1/2 weeks and the feeling of feeling beautiful boosts our confidence as women!
Can I still wear mascara?
I don't recommend it. Why you ask? Well first, you won't need to! Second, it's not the best to be putting anything on the lashes. But if you must just make sure you properly cleanse the lashes and brush them out to get the mascara residue off when your day or night is over!
Can I get them wet?
Hold off for the first 48 hours as much as you can. You can dry them either by blotting with a tissue or soft cloth or with a blow drier on the cool setting. If you must swim or rinse your face under running water it may lead to quicker fall out, so I always say try not to get them wet as much as you can!
How do I clean them?
Take a wand/brush for your lashes and a lash appropriate soap (baby shampoo, specific cleanser for lashes, etc) and twirl the brush into the suds of soap. Brush down into lashes, splash with some cool water, dry and brush back into place.
